Nina Freeman

Video Game Designer


Nina Freeman is a video game designer known for spearheading a new era of independent game design. She is currently a designer at Fullbright in Portland, Oregon. She most recently worked on their game, Tacoma, as a level designer. Outside of Fullbright, her work focuses on the vignette form and character focused narratives. Also, her personal projects often draw on her own life stories. Previous games that Nina worked on include Independent Games Festival (IGF) nominee how do you Do It? and IGF Nuovo winner Cibele. Her current personal project is called We Met in May, which is a collection of vignette games about dates she and her boyfriend went on early in their relationship. It will be released in September 2019. Nina studied poetry at Pace University and is a self-taught programmer. She was named in Forbes 2015 list of most influential video game industry figures.
