On April 18th, we launched our latest research report “From Real to Reel: Representation and Inclusion in Film and Television Produced in British Columbia.”

Commissioned by UBCP/ACTRA, the Geena Davis Institute analyzed feature films, TV shows and TV movies produced in British Columbia (B.C.) between 2018–2021 based on the representation of six identities: gender, race/ethnicity, 2SLGBTQIA+, disability, fatness, and age. We also analyzed characters based on prominence, billing, story role, and traits to help further assess the diversity of characters to better understand what work opportunities are available to performers from equity and sovereignty-seeking groups.
