Virtual See Jane Salon – API Representation Report and Panel

TUESDAY,
AUGUST 3, 2021

Join us online August 3rd for this premiere event, conversation with acclaimed panelists, and launch of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media’s new groundbreaking research study: I Am Not a Fetish or Model Minority: Redefining What it Means to be API in Entertainment.

This inaugural study investigates Asian and Pacific Islander (API) representation in 100 popular films — the 10 top-grossing domestic films from each year between 2010-2019 — along with a landmark survey of API entertainment content creators. This study will provide critical insights to drive progress for more authentic representations.

ABOUT CAPE
Celebrating 30 years, CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) advances representation for Asian American and Pacific Islander storytellers in Hollywood in three ways: (1) nurturing and engaging creative talent and executive leadership, (2) providing cultural content consulting and talent referrals, and (3) championing projects for critical box office and streaming success. Through our industry-renowned programs such as the CAPE New Writers Fellowship and the CAPE Leaders Fellowship, our consulting and talent referral services, the CAPE Database, and #GoldOpen, CAPE is breaking barriers to representation from the writers’ room to the boardroom to the living room.
