Virtual See Jane Salon – Behind the Scenes: The State of Equity and Inclusion in TV Writing

Tuesday, May 4, 2021
12:00pm PT | 3:00pm ET

Go behind the scenes with The Geena Davis Institute and TTIE (Think Tank for Inclusion & Equity). Join us as we analyze the 2020 survey data from TV writers.

The survey found that 37.9% of writers who witnessed problematic content in their most recent writers room, many of those who pushed back on problematic content or storylines were negatively impacted.

This year’s Behind the Scenes Report attempts to further understand the barriers that underrepresented writers continue to face, address how the pandemic has affected TV writers’ careers in the last year, and dive deeper into the process of creating more authentic and inclusive content.

We’ll talk to a panel of experts and provide substantive recommendations to industry leaders as well as tools for underrepresented writers to be successful in their TV writing careers.
