Sidney Clifton

Producer at The Jim Henson Company and Founder of the Clifton House
Sidney Clifton is the daughter of National Book Award winning poet and children’s book author Lucille Clifton. An Emmy-nominated producer, Ms. Clifton has over twenty years of experience as a producer, and executive overseeing animated, mixed-media and live-action content. She is a storyteller in her own right, as a producer of animated and mixed media content for television and streaming platforms including NBC Universal, Cartoon Network, Hallmark Channel, Showtime, BET, and Apple TV+. She currently serves as a producer at The Jim Henson Company. As a mentor and recruiter, she has been a featured speaker at colleges and universities across North America.
Her commitment to nurturing underserved poets, writers, artists, and content creators was the catalyst for her launching The Clifton House; a writer’s and artist’s workshop and retreat space centered at her childhood home in Baltimore Maryland. The Clifton House continues Lucille and her husband Fred Clifton’s legacy of creative courage and art as activism.
