Romeo Pérez (he/him/él) is the Senior Project Manager of Research & Insights at the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. He has worked at the Institute as a researcher for the past few years, both while home in Michigan and while studying abroad in Spain and Argentina. His academic research has focused on representations of queer characters on screen, social perceptions of gay men, Latinx queer identities, and trans-inclusive Spanish linguistics. He also has a strong passion for social activism and presented at the Institute’s Social Justice Teach-In in June 2020. Romeo graduated with High Distinction from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor with a dual degree in Spanish and psychology and minors in LGBTQ & Sexuality Studies and Judaic Studies.
