Joshua Rush

Actor/Political Activist

With more than a decade of experience in entertainment, 18-year-old Joshua Rush has amassed broad credits in animation voice work and live-action roles. He most recently starred as groundbreaking character Cyrus Goodman in Andi Mack, playing the first openly gay character on Disney Channel.

Additionally, Joshua is passionate about news and the importance of the youth voice in politics. In 2019, he served in two congressional offices, and currently works as a fellow to re-elect Senator Ed Markey. Currently, Rush hosts twice-weekly “Candidate Conversations” on Instagram Live, giving up- and down-ballot progressive and socialist candidates the opportunity to spread their message and garner support from around the world. Prior to this, he hosted “News in a Rush” weekly on Instagram, breaking down the learning curve to help young people understand an important topic in a minute or less.

Rush served as an Ambassador for National Absentee Ballot Day with and is involved with US Youth Climate Strike, UNICEF, GLAAD, and Equality Utah, a local organization that recently won an end to conversion therapy in the state.

Josh loves coffee, skiing, cooking, and is a fervent fan of the National Parks.
