Award-Winning Journalist

Jareen Imam is an award-winning journalist, marketing leader, content creator, and editorial director. Currently, she’s charged with developing content and editorial strategies for Amazon Ads. Prior to her work in tech, she was the Director of Social Newsgathering at NBC News where she led a global team of journalists, producers, and writers to find, verify, and report on news stories using social forensic techniques and open-source intelligence tools. She’s the former Head of Social at CBS News and also worked as a producer and editor for CNN. In 2019, Imam was selected as one of Take the Lead’s “50 women who can change journalism” fellowship. She’s also the recipient of the IWMF Gwen Ifill fellowship and the Lauren Brown fellowship. Her team’s reporting has been recognized with several journalism honors, such as the Edward Murrow Award, the Peabody Award, and most recently, her NBC team was awarded the EMMY for outstanding breaking news coverage of the January 6th Capitol riots. She’s a graduate of Emory University where she majored in English, journalism, and creative writing. She’s also a published poet, an active social media content creator, and is currently writing her first fiction book.
