UNICEF Youth Advocate

Ashley Lashley, a Barbadian UNICEF Youth Advocate with a wide focus on social development issues particularly as it relates to health, the environment, and women’s rights. Miss Lashley began on her journey by establishing in 2016, while still at The Lodge School in Barbados, The Schools Against Non-Communicable Diseases when she was sixteen (16) years old. She also chaired committees on these issues and worked with many NGOs and Community Based Organizations in Barbados.

Miss Lashley was crowned Miss Teen Barbados in 2016 and Miss World Barbados in 2018. She represented Barbados at the Miss World show which was held in Sanya, China in December 2018 and became a finalist in the show and graced the runway of New York Fashion Week and LA Fashion Week.

Since The Schools Against Non-Communicable Diseases’ inception, Miss Lashley has initiated, together with partners, a series of social intervention programs essentially designed to tackle these issues.

She was named an Advocate on Childhood Obesity by the Heart Stroke Foundation of Barbados and was honored by the Optimist Club for her work on Non-Communicable Diseases.

Miss Lashley is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Model Patrol which is a creative development academy and management whose main objectives is to create and provide the necessary enabling environment and enhance the capabilities of young and talented Barbadian & Caribbean creatives drawn from all social corridors island especially in the communities to reach the international stage.

She is also the Founder of The Ashley Lashley Foundation.
